OK, I'm not as well read as I should be

Following up on a quiz done by [livejournal.com profile] fr_john.
Below-Average Reader
You have a Geek Lore rating of 35%
You seem to have read some fantasy and science fiction, but in all likelihood you don't race off to conventions (for literary pursuits, at least) every year or use phrases like "Hot Jets!" in casual conversation. Okay, no nobody uses phrases like that in casual conversation. The point remains.

My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:

Of course I know I haven't read as much as many SF fans out there. I'm a slow reader, and a lack of time due to other things such as going to school and raising a nine-year-old have eaten into much of my reading time. I've made up for some of that by listening to audio books while commuting for the last several years, but not all of the classic titles are available in that form, and I keep finding newer stuff I want to read.

While doing the quiz I left between 1/3 and 1/4 of the entries blank because I didn't recognize the text or any of the works. In some cases I probably could have eliminated a couple of wrong answers and guessed, but that would be cheating in this kind of quiz. In almost every case I either recognized the text and then found the answer, or I knew I didn't know it. In two or three cases (I'm not telling you which in case you want to take the quiz) I was able to find the correct answer because none of the others made sense -- and at least I'd read the book in question at some point.
