Travel plans for our trip to San Diego are pretty much gelled -- that is we have hotel reservations for every night but two, and those two will be the nights we spend with my parents.
(If my html was up to snuff, I'd try reproducing the nice table I've got in a document, but I don't do tables successfully without assistance)
- July 28-30
Movers pack and load house in Bartlett. Potentially we may end up staying in Rockford with my in-laws - July 31
Drive to Lincoln, Nebraska. Spend the night at Ramada Airport in Lincoln - August 1
Drive to Estes Park, Colorado. Spend the night at the Holiday Inn Rocky Mountain Park - August 2
Spend day at Rocky Mountain National Park. Possibly drive the Trail Ridge Road, or similar. Dog and cat will have to spend the day in the hotel room. - August 3
Drive to Denver area (Wheat Ridge). Spend night at Ramada Denver West. Take spare car and trailer to Bailey for temporary storage - August 4
Spend time with friends and family in the Denver area.graht, this is your cue :-)
- August 5
Spend time with friends and family. Move to the Sheraton for Denvention. Find temporary housing for the cat, since he is unwelcome at the Sheraton :-(. - August 6-10
Denvention 3, the 2008 Worldcon. We will be staying at the Sheraton, but unfortunately not hosting any parties. I will be helping with the Chicago party, and some other stuff. I'm also on one panel. - August 11
Pick up cat, then drive to Bailey and pick up spare car. From there, down to Albuquerque by way of Alamosa. - August 12
Day at leisure in Albuquerque. Will probably do some laundry and visit with family. We may get a chance to visit a favorite restaurant, but probably not all of them. - August 13
Drive to Williams, Arizona. Stay at the Super 8 motel. - August 14
Day at leisure at the Grand Canyon. We'll have to stick to the South Rim and probably the main areas, since we'll need to get an early start the next day. - August 15
Drive to San Diego. Leave as early as possible (before 6:00 if we can get up and moving that early) to get as far west as possible before it gets too hot. We may have to put everyone but one driver into the car not towing a trailer to not cause too much discomfort if we leave too late
That pretty much sums it up. Plans could change if they have to, but we are pretty much set.
